Doing a few things to change your eating habits is a great way to start on your healthier lifestyle journey.

  1. Try to make sure you are getting the right ratio of macro-nutrients in your meals. It is ideal to have twenty percent of fat, forty percent of protein, and about forty percent of carbohydrates.
  2. Try to reduce the number of carbohydrates that you are eating throughout the day. Try not to eat any carbohydrates in the late afternoon or evening.
  3. Include more raw foods for easier digestion. They are easier for your body to break down because their natural enzymes have not been destroyed by the cooking process.
  4. Pick foods that have healthy fats monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat. The healthier fats will make you feel full and satisfied for longer periods of time which will, in turn, help you to not overeat later in the day
  5. You should strive to eat three balanced meals each and every day. Snack on healthy foods like carrots and apples if you feel hungry between meals.
  6. Drink plenty of water and other liquids. If you can not stand to drink water try drinking water-based drinks such as tea, kool-aid, and tang. There are also flavored water drinks you can try.

Eating healthy is a very important step in living a healthier lifestyle, but it is important to include proper exercise as well.

  2. Do Cardiovascular or aerobic exercises to strengthen your heart. Aerobic exercises can include skating, bicycling, jumping rope or jogging. Start off on ten minutes a day then work your way up to 20 to 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. Be sure to talk to your doctor before starting any major exercise routine.
  3. Exercise does not have to be hard work. You should try to include a stretch routine but involving your self in sports or just dancing can go a long way in making you feel a lot more healthy and fit.

Keep Your Mind Healthy

In addition to eating right and exercising you should try to keep a healthy mindset. Too much stress and overthinking can put a strain on your healthy lifestyle.

Listening to relaxing music, breathing properly and doing other healthy stuff to help you relax can go a long way in living a longer, happier, healthy life.
